I love Amy Poehler and I love that her P&R character Leslie Knope created Galentine’s Day.

Galentine’s Day is Feb. 13th. It’s a day to gather with your favorite ladies and celebrate your friendship, preferably with sweet brunchy food.

5 tips for throwing an Awesome Galentine’s Day party

  • Plan your celebration early!

If your girls are crazy busy like mine, then it is best to start planning your Galentine’s Celebration in early January. Get your date coordinated and on everyone’s calendar.

  • Find a location that inspires conversation

Nothing is worse than wanting to catch up with your friends and being in a spot that so loud you have to yell everything. Be mindful of location. Could you have your celebration in the comfort of your own home? Does your favorite restaurant have a room you could rent? Or is there a bakery in town with ample seating?

  • Have a fun but simple activity

I love to just visit with friends, but it is so much fun to have a little something to do while catching up. Think about what you and your girls love to do.

Are you all crafty? You could stencil signs, or mod podge just about anything.

Do you all love to bake? Decorate cookies or cupcakes. Or have a taste off, for example see which bakeries have the best cupcakes or macarons in town and vote on the winner.

Are you all Yogis, do a quick 10-15 minute yoga session before brunch?

  • Keep the Menu Simple

You don’t want to be spending time watching a pot and miss out on catching up with your girls. Brunch menus lend themselves to a lot of make-a-head items. Here are few links to some of my favorite brunch items.

Raspberry French Toast Bread Pudding

My favorite Cinnamon Rolls that can be made in advance!!!

Simple but AMAZING Blueberry Muffins

  • Don’t go crazy on the décor! I love Pinterest so much, but sometimes it makes me feel a little inadequate on the themed decorations front.

Top 3 décor elements:

Flowers: Buy or make a lovely flower arrangement for your table

Cute napkins and/or plates

Small clear votives with white or pink candles to add sparkle

If you have a little extra time, you could make some fun gift tags, or print these ones from FTD Desgins.
